I Promise (MKE WK 23)

I promise to keep these 4 promises:

1) Wherever I go I bring a gift. I may bring a compliment, a prayer 🙏🏼 , a trinket, a flower 🌺 …. but, I promise I will give something to every person I encounter.

2) I promise to be a grateful receiver of the gifts that surround me, pausing often and noticing nature, kindnesses, smiles and compliments; which, I will gladly receive with a “thank you.”

3) I promise to give hope for joy, affluence, kindness and love, consciously with every encounter, regardless of the brevity.

4) I promise to give, without expectation of reciprocity, from the channels I enrich, because I know I am in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving.

I have had fun and accepted the challenge of practicing these principles …. for that is what they are, principles …. they can be found in God’s Word …. undeniable principles to living a joyful life.

I just “randomly” (nothing is happenstance) came across a free movie access to an amazing story on YouTube. I wasn’t really looking for another story or another segment of time to sit and chill. But, it caught my attention and I took the bait. I am so glad that I did. I watched a story unfold chronicling the despair of a small Western town brow-beaten by difficult times and a kingpin landlord. A request from the children went out for a miracle maker. One young boy “saw” it, “believed” it and sent out a telegraph for it. The answer came in an unexpected package. Small things grew in unlikely places and people …. and miracles multiplied.

I invite you to listen to this wonderfully simple story with a profound message of how one act, one word, one item, one person can create a ripple effect and amazing things happen and multiply. Enjoy the story and soak up the truth. And, then, consider how it can be personalized. At this time in our world 🌎, where can I leave a mark and make a difference however simple it may seem?

Would love to read your thoughts 💭 afterwards.

Being a Channel (MKE WK 21)

This song keeps coming back to my mind …

Let me share the words … simple yet picturesque and poignant.

“I want to be a channel for the river of God. I want to be a channel for the river of God. So dig me deep and dig me wide. I want to be a channel for the river of God.”

I see here a desire and yearning for internal transformational work sloughing off of that which hinders progress and free flow so that I become a clear conduit for The River and Originator of that transformation. As I surrender my will, my failures, my false narratives, my lies, my pride and whatever else I needlessly cling to to that flow, the dross is washed away, the channel broadens and deepens.

Let me become a wide and deep channel through which The River freely flows. Where I can take in and be receptive to the characteristics of the flow and gratefully allow it to channel through me to the world.

Gratefulness and Acts of Kindness (MKE WK20)

As we are embarking on and navigating tempestuous seas in our world; I find myself recognizing that there is much to be grateful for and many places where we can just spontaneously perform a RAK.

There is so much unknown and subdued fear around us. The faces and demeanors of those we do come into proximity with is many times sad and/or disturbing. I’ll be honest, it is unsettling to contemplate the possible consequences of long-term “social distancing”. However, on the other hand, it is fantastic that we have so many outlets available to us to connect digitally.

Case in point, a dear friend of mine, has been in the hospital for many weeks. Her prognosis is fluid as her body’s responses keep changing. I was able to reach out and visit her several times at the hospital in the first several weeks. Now, there is no physical or personal visits and even her family can only drop things off to her at the front door. As is known, lack of contact can be a big negative for healing and wholeness. I am grateful that she is able to have her tablet and phone with her there. It was encouraging to be able to visit with her via electronic and visual means. It was good to be able to see her face and hear her voice. I am grateful for this technology.

I have made it a point to express my gratitude to those who are continuing to put themselves out there faithfully doing their duties and being in a place of greater exposure to potential contact. While keeping their distance, they seem to be thirsty for a simple conversation and really light up when they are thanked for their faithfulness to their duties. They express their gratitude in kind for the expression of appreciation. We both are encouraged in our spirits as we part ways.

It was food for my soul, too, when I was able to randomly assist a struggling, special-needs shopper to get the produce bag open and help her fill it. She was grateful.

We are admonished to look to the needs of those around us, show kindness, have compassion … Ephesians 4:32 “and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, ….”. Gratitude and kindness …. two well-dressed sisters !!

Of Infinite Value (MKE WK 19)

It is soooo amazing to contemplate the magnitude of the Master Creator’s ebb and flow of life. How all things are created with design and purpose. I am in awe and love the thought that I was created with a specific purpose that was finished in the mind of my Creator before I was created. He saw the end, the finished product, and needed(created) me to fulfill that specific purpose … that my reason for living has a definiteness placed within me by the Creator, God. Much like the shipbuilding process … the architect has thought through and finished the project in his mind and now goes back to the beginning to build what he has already envisioned in detail and put into play. It is just so awesome to think that if He has purposed even the insects and plants of the fields to intricately play their part in His infinite design, how much more He has placed me here on His footstool to fulfill His “already finished” design and vision just for ME … I AM unique and of infinite value! This moves me to the core and almost makes me tear up …. Praise the Lord!!!! Unfathomable how much He loves me …. incomprehensible!!!

Are Your Shoelaces Untied? (MKE WK 18)

A paraphrase from Scott Fardulis’ leadership call.

“Don’t worry about my untied shoelaces, they can’t trip me (at least not for long) as long as I’m lengthening my strides.”

In other words, I may have imperfections, rough edges, and other inhibitions, etc.; but, as long as I’m strengthening, lengthening, and increasing my strides for the goal, those imperfections aren’t big (or long) enough to keep me from achieving and overcoming. Only if my strides are too short will the untied laces have the potential of getting in my way. BUT, know that if I’m tripped, I will fall forward, get up and keep moving!! Eventually, those “untied laces” and whatever they may represent, can or will become imperceptible and unencumbering.

Scriptural principle: Philippians 3:14, 15
“… but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize ….”

While the Apostle Paul is using this in reference to our spiritual life; I firmly believe that the same Biblical principles that guide our spiritual life can also be put into practice to guide our everyday thinking and mindset. We are a whole being: body, mind, spirit and soul.

Your Life’s Blueprint – MKE WK 17HJ)

In listening to an “Inspiring Habits” YouTube recording, I was excited with this acronym of VISION.

Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish, …”

V: Visualize (see yourself)

I: Internalize, Integrate, Incorporate (make it personal)

S: Strategize (make a plan) Proverbs 14:15 “… the prudent man looketh well to his going.”

I: Initiate – Begin!! Proverbs 12:24 “the hand of the diligent shall bear rule.”

O: Overcome – Everything worth having will cost. Don’t fear the pothole in the sky. Can’t be a good pilot til you learn to handle turbulence (criticism, lied about, misunderstanding, gossip, etc.) Overcome! “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

N: Necessitate – What is the video playing in my soul? Have a burden for your vision. 1 Corinthians 9:16 “… necessity is laid upon me, …”

“New Day” (MKE WK 16)

I want to share with you all a poem that I have on a plaque that does not have any author attached to it; but, I think it fits so well into our MKE makeover and re-training.

“This is the beginning of a new day.

God has given me this day to use as I will.

I can waste it or grow in its light 💡and be of service to others.

But what I do with this day is important because I have exchanged a day of my life for it.

When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever.

I hope I will not regret the price I paid for it.”

This poem brings these Scriptures to mind. There are a couple of places in God’s Word where we’re told to “redeem the time” (Colossians 4:5 and Ephesians 5:16). Then in Psalm 90:12, one can find a prayer 🙏🏼 of request, “so teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts 💕 unto wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

May I be found faithful.

More on LEGACY (MKE WK 15)

Legacy is one of my PPNs. The thought of it has been challenging me especially since the outset of a new decade and year. Here is another acronym I created as a definition and purpose-driven statement.

Living

Everyday

Giving

All

Courageously

Year-round.

Any thoughts out there? Or, creations of your own? Ideas for more? Feel free to share in the comments.

Thank you for adding inspirational content.

Blessings.

“I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, healthy and happy!!”
